Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 1, 2025 | Last Updated: June 1, 2025

1. Information We Collect

From Attorneys

When an attorney purchases a membership or submits a profile, we collect: full name, firm name, bar number, address, phone number, email address, website URL, practice areas, cities served, and payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers).

From Site Visitors

When members of the public use the Site to search for attorneys, we may collect: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on the Site. We collect this information through cookies and standard web analytics tools.

Contact Forms

If you submit a contact form on the Site, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: (a) create and display attorney profile listings; (b) process membership payments; (c) communicate with attorneys about their memberships; (d) respond to contact form inquiries; (e) improve the Site and user experience; and (f) send relevant updates or marketing communications to attorneys who have opted in; and (g) run targeted advertising campaigns on platforms including Facebook and Instagram to promote the directory and connect the Haitian community with listed attorneys. We do not send marketing emails to general site visitors.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with: (a) Stripe, for payment processing; (b) Supabase, for database hosting; (c) service providers who assist in operating the Site, subject to confidentiality obligations; and (d) Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram), for advertising and audience targeting purposes through the Meta Pixel and related tools; and (e) law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by law.

Attorney profile information — including name, firm, phone, email, website, and practice details — is displayed publicly on the Site as part of the directory service.

4. Cookies

We use cookies and tracking technologies including the Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) to improve Site functionality, analyze traffic, and serve targeted advertisements on Facebook and Instagram to people who may benefit from our directory. The Meta Pixel allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and build audiences for our ads.

You may disable cookies in your browser settings or opt out of Meta's data use at facebook.com/help/contact/861169066929507. Doing so may affect your ability to use certain features of the Site.

5. Data Retention

We retain attorney profile data for as long as the membership is active and for up to 12 months after cancellation. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email in Section 8.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe and is PCI-DSS compliant. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate information; (c) request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements; and (d) opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or contacting us directly.
